OpenAI has launched a beta integration allowing ChatGPT users to connect Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint libraries for document analysis using the Deep Research feature. This capability is available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team subscribers, excluding users in the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and the UK. The integration enables real-time analysis of files stored in OneDrive and SharePoint, allowing users to ask questions and receive responses with cited content from their documents. Administrative approval is required for organizations to enable this connection, ensuring secure and controlled access. OpenAI has also expanded the availability of connectors, including Dropbox and GitHub, for ChatGPT Deep Research. The Dropbox connector is available globally to Team users and is rolling out to Plus and Pro users, except in the EEA, Switzerland, and the UK, while the GitHub connector is now accessible to Plus, Pro, and Team users worldwide. ChatGPT is testing support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open-source standard that would allow the AI to connect to third-party services and use them as context for tasks. MCP integration is expected to benefit enterprise users by enabling connections to internal tools and data sources. OpenAI's connectors feature is similar to Claude's Remote MCPs. OpenAI is reportedly working on bringing Sora feed and video generation to the ChatGPT mobile app. Additionally, CEO Sam Altman has announced that the company will soon release another 'low-key research preview,' with speculation about a possible launch on May 19. Details about this new preview have not yet been disclosed.
