Ukrainian developer GSC Game World has published a roadmap detailing the updates planned for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl through the end of 2025. The centrepiece is a migration of the open-world shooter from Unreal Engine 5.1 to at least version 5.4, with internal testing under way for 5.5.4. The studio expects the newer engine builds to improve stability, frame-rate and optimisation across platforms. Beyond the technical overhaul, the roadmap outlines fresh content, including new story missions, additional anomalies, night-vision gear, binoculars and an extended day-night cycle. Balance tweaks to enemy AI and stamina, UI refinements and a reworked loot-stash system are also scheduled. Modding support will expand through an upgraded ‘Zone Kit’ that adds audio and narrative tools. GSC cautions that individual items could slip if extra polishing is required but says development remains on track. A PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro launch of STALKER 2 is slated for later this year, following the title’s debut on PC and Xbox in 2024.
