The Spanish stock index, Ibex 35, started the week with gains, reaching over 12,100 points in early trading, marking a continuation of last week's 14-year highs. However, it declined by 0.12% by midday, fell by 0.08% to 12,062 points during the session, and closed the day down by 0.5%, managing to stay above the 12,000-point threshold. Steel companies, including ArcelorMittal (+1.9%) and Acerinox (+2.5%), led the gains, while real estate investment trusts (socimis) lagged. European markets showed mixed performance amid geopolitical tensions in South Korea and Syria, as well as anticipation of the European Central Bank's upcoming meeting.
