Spanish singer Judeline has withdrawn from the 2025 Festival Internacional de Benicàssim after learning of the event’s financial ties to U.S. private-equity firm KKR. In a statement posted on 3 July, the Cádiz-born artist said she was “against genocide and for Palestinian rights today and always,” adding that the connection between the festival and the fund was “direct and evident.” She had been scheduled to perform on 18 July. KKR holds an indirect stake in the festival through Superstruct Entertainment, a live-events group in which the buyout firm is an investor. Activists have criticised KKR for backing Israeli companies and property ventures operating in occupied Palestinian territories. Although Superstruct has said it is “horrified” by the human toll in Gaza and allows each festival to act independently, the link has prompted a wave of boycotts across Spain’s summer circuit. Judeline joins several acts—including punk outfit La Élite—who have canceled FIB appearances this year over the same issue. Other events tied to Superstruct have faced similar artist withdrawals, amplifying pressure on promoters ahead of the peak festival season. FIB, slated for 17–19 July in Benicàssim with headliners such as The Black Keys and Thirty Seconds to Mars, has not yet commented on how the latest exit will affect its lineup.
