Microsoft has announced an agreement to host Elon Musk's AI chatbot Grok, developed by xAI, on its cloud infrastructure. This collaboration comes amid ongoing legal disputes between Musk and Microsoft concerning OpenAI. Grok has recently been upgraded with a new feature called Live Search, which enables the chatbot to access and retrieve real-time data from 𝕏 (formerly Twitter), the internet, trending news, RSS feeds, and more. The Live Search API is currently available in beta and free of charge until June 5, 2025. Developers can integrate this functionality into their applications, enhancing Grok's ability to provide up-to-date information rather than relying on static or outdated data. xAI is also reportedly working on additional features such as screen sharing for Grok on iOS devices. The partnership marks a notable development in AI technology and cloud services, combining Microsoft's hosting capabilities with Musk's AI innovation despite their concurrent legal conflicts.
