GameSquare said it has purchased 2,717 ether for about $10 million, expanding the digital-asset portion of its balance sheet to 15,630.07 ETH. Based on Monday’s prices, the company now holds roughly $57 million of the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency. The company also approved a share-repurchase program that will be financed by the yield it earns on those Ethereum holdings. GameSquare did not disclose the size or timing of the buyback, but said returns generated from staking or other on-chain strategies will fund the purchases. GameSquare’s move comes amid a broader wave of corporate accumulation of ether. On the same day, blockchain infrastructure firm BitMNR disclosed a $749 million buy, while The Ether Machine added $40 million, according to on-chain data aggregators.
