MicroStrategy Inc. disclosed in a regulatory filing that it made no Bitcoin purchases between 21 July and 27 July, marking a short pause in the company’s aggressive accumulation of the cryptocurrency. The enterprise-software maker, led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, has used convertible debt and share sales to build one of the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holdings and has often announced new buys every few weeks. Despite the latest lull, Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brett Knoblauch reiterated an Overweight rating on MicroStrategy and lifted his 12-month price target to $680 from $614. Knoblauch said the stock remains a “must-own” proxy for Bitcoin exposure, citing the company’s existing trove of coins and “capital-markets innovation” that could support further purchases. He added that MicroStrategy could eventually amass about one million Bitcoins, positioning it to become a megacap if cryptocurrency prices climb.
