Serve Robotics has acquired urban-navigation specialist Vayu Robotics, broadening the San Francisco company’s use of AI foundation models to improve the autonomy of its sidewalk delivery fleet. The companies said the combination will merge Serve’s large real-world dataset with Vayu’s simulation-powered training engine, aiming to accelerate development of Serve’s third-generation robots built on Nvidia’s Orin edge platform. Financial terms were not disclosed. Serve said the deal will help it reach its target of deploying 2,000 Level-4 autonomous delivery robots by year-end, expanding beyond current partnerships that include Uber Eats. Uber retains about an 8% stake in Serve, while Nvidia recently pared its holding. Separately, Wedbush Securities began coverage of Serve with an Outperform rating and a $15 price target, about 46% above the stock’s latest close. The brokerage cited the strengthened technology stack and growing demand for automated last-mile logistics as key catalysts for revenue growth.
