The Stockholm stock exchange experienced mixed trading amid a heavy flow of corporate earnings reports. The OMXS30 index initially opened lower but rebounded to close up 0.3% on April 24, supported by gains in companies such as Nibe, Volvo, and New Wave, the latter surging with double-digit gains following a profit increase. However, some companies like Mips, Viaplay, Essity, Husqvarna, and Hemnet reported weaker results, with Husqvarna also announcing a CEO change. On April 25, Saab reported its strongest first quarter ever, with sales reaching SEK 15.79 billion, slightly below estimates of SEK 16.19 billion, but operating profit exceeded expectations at SEK 1.45 billion versus an estimate of SEK 1.41 billion. Saab's CEO, Micael Johansson, described the quarter as very stable and reiterated the company’s 2025 guidance, noting an 11% sales growth driven by strong defense demand amid European rearmament. Saab’s order intake and profit surpassed forecasts, lifting its shares to the top of the OMXS30 after an initial decline. SKF reported better-than-expected operating results despite a slight year-over-year decrease in sales to $2.24 billion and adjusted EPS of $0.44, down from $0.46. Stora Enso posted improved quarterly earnings with adjusted EPS rising to $0.14 from $0.10 and sales increasing to $2.48 billion from $2.35 billion year-over-year. Meanwhile, Boozt shares fell sharply following a lowered outlook. The OMXS30 index continued to rise on April 25, closing up 1.2%, buoyed by strong earnings from SKF and Gränges, while Hemnet shares declined.
