Amazon has initiated significant layoffs across various units, including its cloud computing division, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and its Amazon-backed humanoid firm, Agility Robotics. The layoffs have affected hundreds of employees globally, with the cloud computing unit alone seeing several hundred job cuts. This move comes after Amazon laid off 27,000 employees in 2022-23. The layoffs also impacted the Just Walk Out technology team, with nearly all engineers in this department being let go. Despite these cuts, Amazon Web Services is still hiring for certain positions.
