Turkey's competition regulator has imposed a fine of approximately 1.3 billion liras (nearly $35.90 million) on Frito Lay Gıda for violating competition laws. The company was found to have prevented competitors from selling their products in small shops, markets, and kiosks. Frito Lay has stated that it reserves its legal rights regarding this decision. Additionally, convenience stores in California have filed a lawsuit against PepsiCo and Frito Lay, alleging price discrimination. The stores claim that the companies are favoring larger retailers such as Walmart and Target by charging them significantly lower prices for snack chips compared to independently owned businesses.
