Turkey Links Syria Stability to Its Security, Backs Damascus Unity Efforts

Türkiye’s Ministry of Defense said on 28 August that Ankara views Syria’s stability as directly tied to Turkey’s own security and to broader regional peace. The ministry stated it will back “any measures” taken by the Syrian government to preserve the country’s unity and territorial integrity and will not tolerate separatist movements. The declaration underscores a public commitment by Ankara to support Damascus in safeguarding national sovereignty, suggesting closer coordination on security issues after years of conflict along the shared border.
