The 101st Air Refueling Squadron based at Incirlik Air Base in Adana, Turkey, operates KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft that provide mid-air refueling to Turkish Air Force fighter jets including F-16s and F-4E/2020 Phantom jets. These tanker aircraft perform refueling operations at an altitude of 26,000 feet and speeds of up to 950 kilometers per hour, delivering between 1 to 1.5 tons of fuel per minute. The squadron, known as "Asenalar Filo," enables continuous flight operations over Turkish airspace, referred to as "Gök Vatan." A full refueling of an F-16 can be completed in approximately three minutes. This capability enhances NATO airpower and supports sustained air missions. Separately, NATO has completed its Operation Sea Guardian deployment in the Mediterranean, focusing on maritime security and cooperation with regional partners. Additionally, NATO has activated the Multinational Division South headquarters in Florence, Italy, as part of strengthening its southern flank, while multinational NATO forces continue training and operational readiness exercises in Romania and other locations.
