The Turkish Gendarmerie has expanded its aerial capabilities with the induction of the 14th T129 ATAK helicopter, designated J-1924 Hürkuş, into its inventory. This helicopter features a domestically produced 20mm cannon developed by the TUSAŞ-SARSILMAZ partnership under TR Mekatronik and is equipped with Aselsan’s ASELFLIR-410 system. In addition, the Gendarmerie received its first batch of three Bayraktar AKINCI unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs), including air, ground, and weapon systems, which were accepted at Baykar’s Çorlu Flight Training and Test Center. Separately, the Turkish Land Forces Command has also received deliveries of TUSAŞ T70 general-purpose helicopters and Dragoneye-2 thermal cameras, though the exact number of helicopters delivered has not been disclosed. These developments reflect ongoing modernization efforts within Turkey’s military aviation units.
