Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv’s international partners have agreed to wait until 1 September for Russia to signal its readiness for a bilateral meeting that could open a new channel for negotiations. Zelensky added that if Moscow fails to respond by Monday, Ukraine will seek a coordinated reaction from its allies. He also urged partner governments to ratify security-guarantee agreements that Ukraine has negotiated with them. Separately, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that the United Nations Security Council will convene an emergency session on 29 August at 22:00 Kyiv time to discuss what he described as another large-scale barrage of Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian territory.
Ukraine’s President Zelensky said allies will wait until September 1st for Russia to prepare for talks and will seek partner responses if Russia does not show readiness by Monday. Ukraine also requests security guarantees from allies to be approved by their parliaments.
