President Donald Trump said the Federal Emergency Management Agency is now run by “some very good people,” arguing that the agency corrected shortcomings in North Carolina relief efforts soon after he took office on Jan. 20. Speaking on Thursday, Trump said FEMA “failed us in North Carolina” under the previous administration but “fixed it up in no time” once new leadership was in place. His remarks followed an interview aired by CNN in which Hot Springs Mayor Abby Norton, whose town is still rebuilding after severe flooding, said federal assistance has been faster and more responsive during the Trump administration than it was under President Joe Biden. Norton added that FEMA’s processes remain cumbersome and should be reformed rather than abolished.
Put aside his inability to take any criticism, remember his hypocrisy - he used every possible disaster and tragedy to score points against Biden. https://t.co/wWv6o3Wclv
