President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump visited Kerrville, Texas, on July 11, 2025, to meet with state and local officials, first responders, and community leaders following severe flooding that devastated the region. During the visit, President Trump emphasized that his administration is doing everything in its power to assist Texas, highlighting the deployment of over 400 first responders and the completion of more than 1,500 rescues. Texas Governor Greg Abbott joined the visit and has been actively involved in recovery efforts, including surveying flood damage alongside General Nordhaus. Abbott announced federal approval allowing SNAP recipients in 26 additional flood-impacted counties to purchase hot foods and ready-to-eat meals, aiming to support families during the rebuilding process. Furthermore, Abbott expanded the state disaster declaration by adding five more counties, while FEMA included Coke, Concho, and Williamson counties in the federal disaster declaration. Both federal and state officials continue to coordinate efforts to aid recovery and rebuild affected communities in Texas.
