Trump Serves Burgers and Pizza to National Guard Securing Washington

President Donald Trump on Thursday evening visited National Guard troops and federal law-enforcement officers deployed in Washington, D.C., delivering hamburgers prepared by White House chefs alongside dozens of pizzas from the local chain Wiseguy’s. The president invited the personnel to the White House grounds for the impromptu meal, thanking them for their service in securing the capital. “We have great hamburgers cooked by the White House and we have pizza,” Trump told the officers. “I'll eat with you and we're going to have a little fun, then we're going to get back to work and we're going to take care of these criminals.” The morale-boosting stop comes as National Guard members and federal agents continue round-the-clock patrols aimed at restoring order in the city after recent unrest. The White House has not disclosed how long the additional security presence will remain in place.
