Vice President JD Vance said he expects “a lot of people” to be indicted as the Justice Department pursues a criminal investigation into how Obama-era officials handled allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 election. In an interview broadcast 10 Aug. on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Vance argued that intelligence agencies “laundered” talking points from Hillary Clinton’s campaign and “defrauded the American people,” echoing President Donald Trump’s earlier accusation that former President Barack Obama committed “treason.” The vice president’s remarks follow Attorney General Pam Bondi’s order last week directing prosecutors to present evidence to a federal grand jury. Bondi’s move came after Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard declassified documents that she says show officials knowingly tied Trump to Moscow. Vance said indictments should proceed if investigators confirm “aggressive violations of the law,” insisting that consequences are necessary to prevent a repeat in future elections. Vance also rebuffed renewed scrutiny of the unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files by asserting that Democratic politicians, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, had closer ties to the late financier than Republicans did. Earlier in the week, Trump dismissed talk of his own links to Epstein as “a hoax” orchestrated by Democrats to divert attention from the Russia probe. The twin controversies heighten partisan tensions as the grand jury prepares to hear evidence.
"Vance knows what he’s doing. Perhaps he doesn’t mind seeing Trump embroiled in the Epstein scandal...To the degree Trump gets damaged by the Epstein matter, it would be harder for Trump to run again in 2028—something Vance doesn’t want Trump to do." https://t.co/2cS9PGY2De
BREAKING: Many individuals are expected to be indicted in connection with the Russia collusion hoax, per VPOTUS.
"After all, it was Vance’s actions this past week that seemed designed to undercut the president on the issue that is perhaps most dangerous to him, the matter of Jeffrey Epstein." https://t.co/63A8tRG0z6
