Lutnick added that “many countries” have responded to recent U.S. pressure by offering to open their markets, singling out the European Union as having presented “real offers” now under review by President Donald Trump. He indicated that nations demonstrating improved treatment of U.S. exporters could see tariff rates adjusted, suggesting negotiations are moving toward greater market access for American firms.
