Taiwan’s Executive Yuan said on 11 Aug 2025 that it is engaged in negotiations with the United States aimed at securing deeper cuts in U.S. tariffs applied to Taiwanese goods. The talks also cover market-access issues for American products, including imports of U.S.-made vehicles. A Cabinet spokesperson added that the government is ready to deliver a formal progress report to the Legislative Yuan once the current round of discussions concludes. Taipei signalled it will continue pressing Washington for additional concessions in order to improve the cost competitiveness of Taiwanese exporters.
