People familiar with the firing told ABC News that President Donald Trump had privately expressed discomfort with having a member of the Comey family in his administration, but the Justice Department has not given an official explanation. One AP source said no specific cause was cited in the termination notice. The move follows the department’s recent acknowledgment of an investigation involving James Comey and intensifies political debate over the handling of sealed Epstein records.
