A coalition of attorneys general from 21 states has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, challenging the administration's decision to cut billions of dollars in federal funding by citing shifting agency priorities. Additionally, mayors and medical groups have sued over efforts by the Trump administration to restrict enrollment in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace. Democratic state attorneys general have also initiated legal action to block changes made by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to ACA health insurance marketplaces, which they argue limit access to ACA insurance. Separate lawsuits have been filed by states including Washington and Arizona against the Trump administration for terminating funding to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster mitigation and infrastructure programs. Nonprofit organizations are continuing their legal battle in the D.C. Circuit after a federal judge dismissed their lawsuit aimed at preventing the Department of Justice (DOJ) from cutting funding to programs providing legal information to noncitizens.
