The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a statement of interest in a Judicial Watch lawsuit aimed at enforcing the cleanup of Illinois' election rolls in accordance with federal law. Judicial Watch also filed a lawsuit in May 2025 seeking records from the DOJ regarding an FBI investigation initiated under then-Director James Comey into Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. In Georgia, a state court has ordered District Attorney Fani Willis to provide new information and potentially conduct a new search for records related to Trump, specifically concerning her RICO case and alleged collusion with Special Counsel Jack Smith. Separately, the DOJ has filed a statement of interest prohibiting medical coverage for gender dysphoria. In response to DOJ threats of criminal prosecution over gender-affirming care, the University of Michigan hospital system announced it will end such care within its facilities. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has stated that his office has sued Donald Trump over gender-affirming care issues, emphasizing that the transgender community will not be scapegoated in the matter.
