The President has signed the Republican-backed “One Big Beautiful Bill” into law, completing a legislative package that cleared the House earlier this month. Supporters describe the measure as a cornerstone of the GOP’s domestic agenda aimed at easing family finances and spurring growth in rural communities. According to lawmakers promoting the law, the statute raises the Child Tax Credit and Adoption Tax Credit, expands the Employer-Provided Childcare Credit, and establishes tax-advantaged savings accounts for newborns. It also cuts a range of federal taxes, rolls back selected energy regulations and broadens school-choice programs, moves that Republicans say will benefit small businesses and agricultural regions. Members of Congress fanned out across their districts on Monday to tout the new law. Representatives from Kansas, Texas, Utah and Florida highlighted provisions they believe will give households “hope,” restore “law and order,” and channel investment into rural America. Federal agencies are expected to issue implementation guidance in the coming weeks.
A constituent contacted me after months of waiting on Railroad Retirement Board payments. I stepped in, and now those benefits are in his account. Proud to help resolve issues like this so our neighbors in CA-19 get the support they’ve worked for and can retire with dignity. https://t.co/IF7PHbxyQW
Earlier this month, I joined the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco to host a roundtable on affordable housing and expanding homeownership for working families. Thank you to all the local housing partners who joined in on this important discussion. I will continue to fight https://t.co/T709azTJwY
Whether you living in a rural town or a big city, housing is the heart of strong communities. That’s why I am proud to join my colleague, @RepZachNunn, to introduce the bipartisan Rural Housing Service Reform Act – because everyone, regardless of zip code – deserve a safe, https://t.co/UU4wFZOPvu
