Venture capital firm a16z has announced a significant investment initiative aimed at bolstering the gaming industry, particularly startups working in AI, VR, AR, and Web3 games. Through its SPEEDRUN accelerator program, a16z plans to invest $30 million, allocating $750K to each of the 40 selected startups. This initiative marks the third edition of the SPEEDRUN accelerator, highlighting a16z's commitment to supporting emerging technologies and gaming ventures. Additionally, the program has garnered support from notable figures in the gaming world, including streamer CohhCarnage, who will partner with a16z for the upcoming SPEEDRUN class, a 10-week program starting in August. CohhCarnage will be involved in the selection process for startups at the intersection of Tech and Gaming, further emphasizing the program's focus on fostering innovation within this dynamic industry.
