AIR COMPANY has raised $69 million in Series B funding to commercialize its carbon utilization technology and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). The 49ers have addressed travel emissions concerns by purchasing SAF through United Airlines. China has launched a pilot program for SAF application in Beijing, with 12 flights refueled by Air China, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern Airlines. Neste, ITOCHU, and GS Caltex have collaborated to make the first batch of CORSIA-certified SAF available for purchase in Japan. The U.S. has seen a tenfold increase in SAF use over the past three years since the launch of the SAF Grand Challenge in 2021. The capacity for SAF is projected to increase more than fivefold from 2024 to 2030, with a 65% share of 2050 emissions reduction goals.
