Anysphere, the start-up behind the AI-powered coding assistant Cursor, has recruited two senior leaders from Anthropic’s Claude Code initiative. Boris Cherny, formerly the lead developer for Claude Code, joins Anysphere as Chief Architect and head of engineering, while ex-Claude Code product manager Cat Wu becomes Head of Product. The hires highlight intensifying competition in the market for automated software-development tools, where both Anysphere and Anthropic have logged sharp growth. Anysphere recently crossed US$500 million in annual recurring revenue and closed a US$900 million Series C financing round, giving it fresh capital to expand its engineering team and product line.
