

















DWF Labs, a Dubai-based crypto market maker and investment firm, has expanded into the United States with the opening of a New York City office. As part of this move, DWF Labs invested $25 million in governance tokens of World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform backed by President Donald Trump and his family. The $25 million purchase was made in a strategic private transaction and makes DWF Labs the 23rd-largest holder of WLFI tokens. The investment is intended to support the development and liquidity of WLFI's forthcoming stablecoin, USD1, which is designed to be fully backed by short-term U.S. Treasury bills, cash, and equivalents. DWF Labs plans to provide liquidity for USD1 across both centralized and decentralized platforms. WLFI has raised a total of $615 million, including $550 million from a public token sale. The project offers DeFi lending and borrowing services and is focused on institutional adoption and global expansion. WLFI tokens are currently non-transferable and locked, with future tradability dependent on governance votes. DT Marks DEFI LLC, a company linked to the Trump family, holds rights to 75% of revenues from WLFI token sales. Notable investors in WLFI include Justin Sun, who has invested at least $75 million, and Bilal Bin Saqib, who recently joined as a strategic advisor. DWF Labs has faced press allegations of market manipulation, including wash trading, but has denied any wrongdoing. The partnership with WLFI comes as DWF Labs seeks to strengthen relationships with U.S. financial institutions, expand its compliance and trading teams, and engage with American colleges and universities to promote crypto education.
