Perplexity, an AI-powered search engine, has garnered significant attention and backing from high-profile tech figures, including Jeff Bezos and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. With its user base reaching 15 million, including notable billionaires, the platform is now seen as a formidable competitor to established search giants. The company's CEO, Arav Srinivas, a Cal alum, has become a prominent figure in Silicon Valley, further highlighted by his role as a mentor in an AI Accelerator program. Users report that Perplexity offers superior performance on several fronts compared to Google, with some suggesting it could completely replace Google if it became the default search option in browsers.

I now use Perplexity several times a day. I’d estimate same usage to Google search. It is much better than google on several fronts - and if it was default search in my browser window / address bar - it would likely replace google search completely. Use chatgpt ~3x per week.
