Human rights organizations and political activists have raised concerns about escalating repression and enforced disappearances in Venezuela. The Mothers of Plaza de Mayo and Argentine left-wing groups have called for the release of Grajales, a detained activist. The Venezuelan Observatory of Prisons reported the transfer of 58 political prisoners from Tocorón prison to an undisclosed area, restricting their communication with other detainees. Nancy Camacaro, a member of Edmundo González's presidential campaign team in Lara, has been reportedly missing since July 21 and is believed to be held by the Directorate General of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim). Additionally, a 61-year-old grandmother disappeared after organizing community support for González's campaign. An NGO condemned violent attacks by colectivos against families of political prisoners, including assaults on mothers and children. The case has drawn denunciations from human rights figures such as Pérez Esquivel, who alongside the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, have demanded the appearance of the missing activist and criticized the Maduro government. Meanwhile, incidents of femicide involving two young women have heightened concerns about gender-based violence in Venezuela.
