Venezuela has officially commenced its electoral campaign for the upcoming municipal elections scheduled for July 27, 2025. The campaign, which began on July 11, will determine the mayors and councilors for the 335 municipalities across the country. Over 50 political parties are participating in the vote campaign, with the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP) actively mobilizing support, particularly in Mérida, where candidates emphasize defending the country's socialist model. The National Electoral Council (CNE) reported that preparations for the elections have progressed to 84.45% completion according to the electoral calendar. To promote transparency and democratic participation, the CNE introduced a new Electoral Offer Disclosure System. Candidates must complete their campaign activities by July 24, ahead of the elections. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has announced incentives, including "double prizes," to encourage voter turnout in the municipal elections.
