Venezuela has announced a reforestation plan in the state of Portuguesa following intense rainfall that affected agricultural areas, including at least 5% of the corn crops, according to Fedeagro. The plan targets a protected zone impacted by the heavy rains. In the Andean state of Mérida, over 10,000 farmers have been affected, with some resorting to giving away vegetables due to difficulties in commercializing their produce. Local farmers in Mérida's páramo region have made machinery available to clear affected roads while government teams are en route. Volunteers and more than 6,500 officials are assisting those displaced in Mérida. Authorities have distributed one ton of supplies in the affected Mérida region. The president of Fedeagro, Celso Fantinel, called for humanitarian aid for those impacted by the rains in the Andean states. Additionally, the president of Conindustria, Tito López, reported no damage to industrial park infrastructure in the Venezuelan Andes. In Mérida, motorcyclists supported by businesses and community collaboration have delivered aid to severely affected communities such as Los Aleros and Apartaderos.
