Guatemala has experienced a series of seismic events affecting multiple regions, notably Jutiapa, Sacatepéquez, and Alta Verapaz. On July 8, a tree fell at kilometer 39 on RN-10 in Antigua Guatemala, Sacatepéquez, and subsequent earthquakes prompted evacuations in Guatemala City, including a shopping center in zone 10 and the National Palace of Culture in zone 1. These events caused some businesses in zone 1 to close and led to traffic congestion across the city. The National Coordination for Disaster Reduction (CONRED) conducted damage assessments and cleanup operations following landslides in Villa Nueva and San Vicente Pacaya, Palín-Escuintla, where rockfalls obstructed roads. Additional incidents included a tree fall in San Gabriel, Suchitepéquez, and multiple traffic accidents resulting in injuries and fatalities in zones 6 and 7 of Guatemala City and on highways such as Mixco-San Juan and CA-9 Norte. The President of the Congress, Nery Ramos, and President Bernardo Arévalo de León visited Comapa, Jutiapa, to oversee the damage caused by the seismic activity. Approximately 700 people were evacuated in Jutiapa, where food supplies and shelters have been provided. The Guatemalan Army conducted aerial surveys to assess damage, particularly in the caserío San Miguel area. Meanwhile, El Salvador reported 387 earthquakes and damage to 67 homes in the border region with Guatemala. Additional incidents include a vehicle explosion during welding work in Chimaltenango and minor weather disturbances such as light drizzle in Guatemala City.
