Electronic Arts has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will launch worldwide on 10 October 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The publisher used a multiplayer showcase on 31 July to unveil the date, debut gameplay footage and open pre-orders. EA said the Standard Edition will sell for US$70, while the Phantom Edition—bundling in-game cosmetics and boosters—will cost US$100. “We’re not looking to make any changes on pricing at this stage; we already offer a fairly broad pricing scheme across our various products,” an EA executive said, reiterating that the company will not follow peers that are testing US$80 price points for new titles. The reveal highlighted large-scale destruction, a revived class system, a new Escalation mode and a separate Battle Royale component. Developers also pledged to keep cosmetics ‘grounded’, distancing the franchise from the movie- and music-tie-in skins that have proliferated in rival shooters. An open beta begins in early August, and EA published PC requirements ahead of the test. Minimum specs call for an Intel i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 16 GB of RAM and an Nvidia RTX 2060 or AMD RX 5600 XT, with 75 GB of storage. Recommended hardware rises to an i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X paired with an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT; an SSD is advised but not mandatory. EA’s decision to keep flagship pricing at US$70 underscores industry unease with an attempted shift to US$80 releases and places additional pressure on rival franchises—most notably Activision’s upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7—as the holiday shooter market takes shape.
