Krafton said it will discontinue support for PUBG: Battlegrounds on Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One as of 13 November 2025, ending eight years of availability on the two last-generation consoles. After server maintenance that day, the game will no longer be downloadable or playable on either platform. The company said the move is designed to align the battle-royale title with current-generation hardware and allow future updates without last-gen constraints. From mid-November, the console edition will be supported only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, where players can expect higher resolutions and steadier frame rates. Krafton lists 1440p at 60 frames per second on PS5, 2160p at 60fps on PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X, and either 1080p at 60fps or 1440p at 30fps on Xbox Series S. Existing account data and purchased items will migrate automatically when players log in on a current-gen console; PlayStation users must download a separate PS5 version, while Xbox owners will receive the update through Smart Delivery. Refunds for Battlegrounds Plus and other purchases will follow the respective platform’s refund policies.
