Rubio and Treasury Secretary Bessent Say Trump, Who Made Six Peace Deals, Is Only Leader to Broker Russia-Ukraine Peace With 10% Arms Markup

Rubio emphasized that Trump has made peace a priority during his presidency. Supporting this view, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described Trump as the sole individual who can end the ongoing conflict. Bessent also revealed that the United States sells weapons to European countries, which then transfer them to Ukrainian forces. He noted that the US applies a 10% markup on these arms sales, suggesting that this markup could potentially cover costs such as air support for Ukraine. Bessent highlighted Trump's experience in brokering peace deals, mentioning that Trump has successfully negotiated six such agreements and approached the current situation with a detailed plan.
