Republican congressional leaders released a video tribute on 11 Aug. celebrating the life and influence of Edwin J. Feulner, the Heritage Foundation founder who died on 18 July at age 83. House Speaker Mike Johnson, former and current chairs of the House Republican Study Committee and other senior lawmakers praised Feulner for shaping modern conservative thought and mentoring generations of officials. Current RSC chair Rep. August Pfluger introduced a House resolution the same day honoring Feulner’s “tireless efforts at the forefront of the conservative movement.” Former RSC chair Rep. Kevin Hern, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and Sen. Jim Banks joined Johnson in describing Feulner’s half-century of advocacy as foundational to the caucus and to conservative policy making on Capitol Hill.
