In Burkina Faso, the Rapid Intervention Battalion 24 (BIR 24) reported killing at least 50 militants from the Jama'at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) during a major operation in Kantchari as they attempted to attack a military base. JNIM has carried out multiple attacks on military and civilian defense positions across Burkina Faso, including assaults in Soudougui, Barsalogho, Moussokantou near Gaoua, Reko, Nagare, Youba, Sassou, and Kassouka. These attacks have resulted in casualties, with JNIM claiming the deaths of four soldiers in Moussokantou and 20 soldiers and VDP members in Youba. The militant group also reported seizing weapons and equipment, including assault rifles, RPGs, a machine gun, a DShK heavy machine gun, 43 Kalashnikov rifles, 16 motorcycles, and destroying a bulldozer. In Mali, JNIM claimed responsibility for an improvised explosive device (IED) attack that destroyed a military vehicle between Tile and Kirki, causing human losses. They also claimed attacks on military positions in Carrefour Djenne and targeted a military vehicle with a glided bomb between Danderesso and Sikasso, close to Mali's second-largest city. Meanwhile, in Nigeria, the army reportedly ambushed and neutralized over 100 bandits in Zamfara State through combined ground and air operations, a figure corroborated by a United Nations report.
