Google Gemini AI to Enable Calls, Texts on Locked Devices, Introduces Chat Summaries for Pixel 9 Users

Google is enhancing its Gemini AI-powered digital assistant with new features aimed at improving user convenience. A forthcoming update will enable Gemini users to make phone calls and send text messages without unlocking their devices. This functionality, which is similar to capabilities found in Google Assistant, is expected to streamline communication for users. Additionally, Gemini will introduce chat summaries for Google Chat, allowing users to quickly catch up on unread messages without scrolling through lengthy threads. The Gemini extensions, previously exclusive to Pixel 9 devices, are now being made available to a broader audience, facilitating productivity across the Google suite, including Gmail, Maps, and YouTube. These updates are part of Google's ongoing efforts to integrate AI more deeply into its services, enhancing user experience and accessibility.
