Argentina Senate Approves 7.2% Pension Increase From August; AUH Extra Payment Up to 180,000 Pesos in July

Argentina's National Social Security Administration (ANSES) has confirmed a 7.2 percent increase in retirement pensions starting in August 2025, following Senate approval. This adjustment raises the minimum pension amounts for retirees. In addition to the pension increase, beneficiaries of the Universal Child Allowance (AUH) can request an extra payment of up to 180,000 Argentine pesos in July 2025. ANSES also announced an increase in the AUH amounts effective from July, and domestic workers will receive higher wages in line with a new collective bargaining agreement. Meanwhile, individuals over 60 years old are eligible for a new benefit introduced in 2025. The government has clarified the new payment amounts for retirees and pensioners, including those who will not receive the 70,000-peso bonus, outlining the expected income with the upcoming payments.
