Victoria Police have arrested a 34-year-old man after the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered inside a home on Adrienne Crescent in the Melbourne suburb of Mount Waverley late Monday. Officers responding to a call at about 10 p.m. found both victims dead at the scene. The discovery prompted a three-hour search involving patrol units, the canine squad and transit police. The suspect, described by investigators as having no fixed address, was taken into custody without incident at Westall train station about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday. Detective Inspector Dean Thomas of the Homicide Squad said the attack appears targeted and that the suspect was known to the address; police are not seeking additional persons of interest. The relationship between the victims and the suspect has not been confirmed, and formal identification of the deceased is pending post-mortem examinations. Investigators have appealed for anyone with information or footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
