Ford Motor Co. has postponed the launch of its next-generation electric pickup truck and electric van until 2028, according to information circulated on 7 Aug. The models had previously been scheduled for an earlier release. The company is redirecting resources toward a newly developed low-cost electric-vehicle platform intended to support a series of smaller, more affordable models. The first product on that architecture—a compact electric pickup—is now slated for 2027. Ford plans to detail the cheaper EV lineup next week as it seeks to broaden appeal and improve profitability in a market that has become increasingly price-sensitive.
