Ford Motor Co. is recalling roughly 103,000 F-150 pickup trucks in the United States after regulators found that rear axle hub bolts could fatigue and break. The defect covers certain 2023- to 2025-model-year trucks equipped with the Trailer Tow Max Duty package, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday. A broken bolt can damage axle hub splines, potentially causing the vehicle to roll away when parked without the parking brake or leading to a sudden loss of drive power. NHTSA estimates that about 1% of the recalled vehicles carry the defect; Ford said it is unaware of any crashes or injuries linked to the problem. Dealers will replace both rear-axle shaft assemblies at no cost to owners under recall number 25S82. Notification letters are scheduled to be mailed between Aug. 18, 2025, and May 22, 2026.
