Hertz Global Holdings said Wednesday it will begin listing thousands of its certified used vehicles on Amazon’s nascent Autos marketplace, giving the car-rental group a fresh sales channel and expanding Amazon’s push into vehicle retailing. Shoppers can browse Hertz inventory, e-sign documents and pick up their cars within three days at Hertz locations. The programme starts in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Seattle, with a target of reaching 45 sites across the United States. Buyers living within 75 miles of the four launch cities gained access to the service immediately, the companies said. For Hertz, the deal deepens a turnaround strategy aimed at lifting profitability after pandemic-era bankruptcy and an aborted electric-vehicle expansion. The company already disposes of hundreds of thousands of cars each year and reported record retail sales in the first quarter of 2025. The partnership marks the first fleet-dealer tie-up for Amazon Autos, which debuted in December by allowing purchases of new Hyundai models. Adding Hertz gives the e-commerce giant a large supply of used Ford, Toyota, Chevrolet and Nissan vehicles as it broadens beyond digital showrooms into full online transactions.
