Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk said he is drafting a fourth "Master Plan" that will chart the company’s move from what he called a "pre-autonomy" era to a "post-autonomy" world. Speaking on Wednesday, Musk described the plan as a roadmap for a fundamental transformation of the electric-vehicle maker’s business. Musk said autonomy will be the primary driver of Tesla’s future value, asserting that successful execution in self-driving technology and humanoid robots could make Tesla the most valuable company globally. "Autonomy is the story," he said, adding that the technology would lift the company’s worth to “stratospheric levels.” The chief executive also set an aggressive production goal for the Optimus humanoid robot, saying he would be "shocked" if Tesla is not manufacturing about 100,000 units a month within 60 months. Musk’s remarks underscore the company’s ambition to scale robotics alongside vehicle autonomy as core pillars of its next phase of growth.
