Michaela Coel is set to create, write, executive produce, and star in a new drama series titled 'First Day On Earth,' co-produced by HBO and the BBC. The series will feature Coel as British novelist Henri, whose career and relationship are stagnating. The plot unfolds as Henri is offered a job on a film in Ghana, her parents' homeland. Coel describes the ten-part series as another personal story. 'First Day On Earth' will also see Coel collaborating with 'Succession' creator Jesse Armstrong, Phil Clarke, and Roberto Troni for Various Artists Limited, in association with A24.
