Prince Harry will return to the United Kingdom on 8 September to attend the 20th anniversary ceremony of the WellChild Awards, the children’s health charity of which he has been patron since 2007. The event coincides with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. It also marks the duke’s first visit to Britain since losing his High Court appeal in April over the withdrawal of publicly funded police protection during UK stays. WellChild said the prince, 40, will meet seriously ill children and their families and present an award to an “inspiring” young recipient. The trip is likely to renew speculation about whether Harry will meet other members of the royal family, from whom he has been estranged since stepping back from official duties in 2020.
