NVIDIA CEO: IT WILL STILL TAKE US TIME TO RAMP UP OUR SUPPLY CHAIN, I'M GOING TO WORK HARD TO ACCELERATE THE RECOVERY IN THE COMING MONTHS
Nvidia’s chief executive said the company still needs several months to restore normal output after recent shortages, cautioning that its supply-chain expansion will “take us time” despite efforts to accelerate the process. He described the expected lift from selling down current H20 graphics-processor inventories as largely a one-off benefit that should show up in the September and December quarters. Nvidia is not yet planning additional wafer production or CoWoS-S packaging for that model, he added. Shipments of the newer B30 chips are beginning to ramp, but the CEO has not yet met with customers following yesterday’s product announcement. He reiterated that Nvidia will supply China with the most advanced devices permitted under U.S. export rules, saying, “Whatever we’re allowed to sell, we will.”
