Nvidia CEO Says No Inside Track on US-China Rare-Earth Talks

Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang said he has no inside knowledge of discussions between Washington and Beijing over rare-earth minerals, despite media suggestions that the company’s new H20 artificial-intelligence chip had become part of those talks. Huang told reporters on 16 July that he had merely read public reports linking the H20 to the negotiations and had not been briefed by officials on either side. He added that, following the company’s product announcement a day earlier, he has not yet met with customers to discuss orders. The CEO cautioned that Nvidia still needs time to scale its supply chain for the H20 and said he is working to “accelerate the recovery” in coming months.
